This
month has been a real BLUR… literally!
Caroline started carrying toys while she crawled and walked at the
beginning of the month, and now she can full out run! She loves to run and dive into pillows,
towels… even the dog beds! She is so
much fun, and she will wear you out. We
went to the doctor at the first of the month and she weighed 15 pounds and 14
ounces! At this point I am guessing
she’s put on a couple more. We will see
Dr. Griner again in March for her one-year check up and vaccines.
Caroline
was FINALLY moved into the “creeper” room at school. I don’t want to rush her and, evidently there
just wasn’t room, but I was honestly getting a little frustrated that she was
still in the room with the infants!
Caroline
is talking up a storm. Some of her
favorite words:
“dada”
“mama”
“yellow”
“duck”
“doggy”
“Hiiiii!!!!”
“uh
oh” (ALL THE TIME!)
And
she’s starting to try to put together sentences. It’s still jibber jabber, but she definitely
has something to say about EVERYTHING!
She
finally figured out how to clap her hands the “real” way. And she loves to give hugs and has started to
give kisses (with her mouth OPEN!).
She
has two new teeth – both on the left side, top and bottom – and two more coming
in on the right side. A total of 8!
We
eat dinner together almost every night and she has tried just about
everything.
Fun
stuff that Caroline loves:
- Super Why! - The TV show on GPB. It’s all about spelling and is super-bright!
- Dinosaur Train – Another GPB show that she loves
- Greeting the dogs every afternoon when she gets home from school. She LOVES animals and wants to give them a hug… which means leaning her head into their heads.
- Knock Knock – Caroline wants to bang on everything, but she loves standing at the back door and knocking, talking to the dogs
- Reading – she now sits by herself turning pages in books. It is so much fun to watch her – she knows exactly where all of the furry, shiny and rough parts are in her touch-and-feel books
- Playing guitar with her PopPop
- Bedtime songs and prayers with Mommy
- Her lovies – a bunny and a sheep – that she sleeps with every night
- Taking things out of baskets – laundry, toys, etc
- Playing with latches and opening cabinets and doors
- Whipped Cream!
- Bath time!!!
- Putting her hands in the dog-water bowl, which leads to…
A
few things that she isn’t into:
- Being told NO!
- Having something taken away from her.
- Getting dressed after her bath. It can be a two-person effort some nights just to get her into her pajamas. She doesn’t want to be held down.
- Her first busted lip! Caroline tried to stand up in her little blue tub, which I placed in the big tub. She slipped and her face went right into the porcelain. I was sitting RIGHT THERE and it happened so fast… it was horrifying for both of us!
- She threw her first TEMPER TANTRUM this weekend. I have no idea what spurred it, but she sat on the kitchen floor and just started wailing! We walked away. She stopped after about a minute. (I honestly thought that this behavior would happen a little bit later… I am sure there are more of these to come!)
One
more month until she turns the big “1”!!!
Oh, boy. We cannot even believe
it!
